Our Mission:
Hill County Agility (HCA) in Kerrville, Texas, is a Dog
Agility business owned by David and Caroline Hanson. The
business was formed to offer Kerrville area residents and
their dogs the opportunity to learn about and to participate
in the exciting sport of Dog Agility.
Positive motivational methods are used to train the dogs and
handlers. Such training gives the dogs more confidence,
creates a strong bond between the dog and handler, and
provides recreational fun. Any dog, whether pure breed or
mixed breed, which is over a year old and physically fit, is
welcomed in classes. Some students train just for fun, while
others aspire to compete in sanctioned agility trials.
HCA is affiliated with United States Dog Agility Association
(USDAA). Two sanctioned trial competitions are hosted each
year in Kerrville in April and December. Training classes
address issues in other trial venues such as American Kennel
Club (AKC), and Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA).
David (Dave) G. C. Hanson is a retired Civil Engineer. He is
originally from Hessle, England, in Yorkshire. He came to
the States in 1983, when he and Caroline married. Dave’s
passion is Dog Agility. He has been training and competing
since 1984. In addition to teaching classes, he is a
Masters’ Level Judge for USDAA, and a supervisor for apprentice
judges . His wealth of experience gives him much on
which to draw for his teaching and competing.
Caroline Tull Hanson Is a retired Counselor. Although she
does not compete in Dog Agility, she is a faithful
“groupie”. She serves as the Trial Secretary for the
competitions hosted by HCA. In addition, Caroline is an avid
reader of mystery novels, enjoys gardening, photography, computing,
their small hill country ranch with its wildlife, and their
pets. |
